Our Commitment
MS Digital University adopts a transparent and student-friendly fee-refund framework that fully complies with the UGC (Refund of Fees and Non-Retention of Original Certificates) Regulations, 2024. Refunds are processed without harassment and within defined timelines.
The refund slab below is calculated with reference to the formally notified last date of admission for the respective academic session, as published on the MSDU website and admission notifications.
Refund Slab
| Withdrawal Window | Refund | Deduction |
|---|---|---|
| 15+ days BEFORE the formally notified last date of admission | 100% | Nil |
| Less than 15 days BEFORE the formally notified last date of admission | 90% | 10% of total fee paid |
| Within 15 days AFTER the formally notified last date of admission | 80% | 20% of total fee paid |
| 16–30 days AFTER the formally notified last date of admission | 50% | 50% of total fee paid |
| More than 30 days AFTER the formally notified last date of admission | 0% | Full fee retained |
The slab applies to total fees paid (tuition + applicable academic charges). Application fees, examination fees once the exam has commenced, and any non-tuition charges are governed by the “Non-Refundable” section below.
Eligible Scenarios
- Withdrawal of admission within the timelines specified in the slab table below
- Programme cancellation by the university

Non-Refundable Items
How to Apply for a Refund
Submit Online Refund Request
Login to the Student Portal → Fees → 'Apply for Refund'. Attach admission letter, fee receipt, and reason for withdrawal.
Verification by Accounts
The Accounts Office verifies your records and the applicable slab within 3 working days.
Approval by Registrar
After accounts clearance the file moves to the Registrar's office for final approval — typically within 5 working days.
Refund Credited
Approved refunds are credited to the original payment instrument within 7 working days. You will receive an SMS / email confirmation with the UTR number.
Mode of Refund
Approved refunds are credited to the original payment instrument used by the student. For card and net-banking payments, the refund is reversed to the same source. For NEFT/RTGS or UPI payments, the refund is credited to the originating bank account. Cash refunds are not permitted.
In line with UGC norms, original certificates submitted at the time of admission are never retained by the university and are returned to the student upon withdrawal.
Important
Refund timelines run from the date of approval, not the date of application. If the original payment instrument is no longer active, refunds are issued via NEFT to the bank account registered in the student profile after KYC verification. For disputes, escalate to the Student Grievance Redressal Cell.
