Who Can Apply
MS Digital University welcomes learners from every background — school-leavers, working professionals, homemakers, defence personnel, and international students (including the Indian diaspora). Our eligibility framework follows UGC regulations and the Punjab Private Digital Open Universities Policy, 2026, with clearly published relaxations for reserved categories and persons with disabilities (PwD).
Eligibility by Programme Level
Undergraduate (UG)
- Minimum Qualification
- 10+2 (Senior Secondary) or equivalent from a recognised board
- Minimum Marks
- Minimum 45% aggregate — 40% for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD per UGC norms
- Notes
- Subject requirements vary by programme. Diploma holders may be eligible for lateral entry to some programmes. See individual programme pages.
Postgraduate (PG)
- Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree from a UGC-recognised university in the relevant discipline
- Minimum Marks
- Minimum 50% aggregate — 45% for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD per UGC norms
- Notes
- Some PG programmes require the Bachelor's degree in a specific discipline (e.g. MCA → BCA/B.Sc. CS/Maths). An aptitude test may apply for select programmes.
Diploma
- Minimum Qualification
- 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board
- Minimum Marks
- Minimum 40%–45% depending on the programme
- Notes
- Working professionals with relevant experience may be considered for select diploma programmes without formal qualification cut-offs.
Certificate
- Minimum Qualification
- 10+2 or equivalent; some programmes are open to 10th-pass learners
- Minimum Marks
- No minimum marks for most certificate programmes
- Notes
- Rolling admissions throughout the year. Certificate programmes are ideal for skill upgradation and professional development.
General Rules & Exceptions
- All qualifications must be from a board/university recognised by UGC, AICTE, or the relevant statutory body
- Foreign qualifications require an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
- Candidates in the final year of qualifying exam may apply provisionally; admission is confirmed on submission of final marksheet before enrolment close
- Medium of instruction at MSDU is English; Hindi-medium study material is available for select programmes
- No upper age limit — MSDU follows UGC's Open & Distance Learning regulations, 2020
- Candidates with backlog or supplementary results must regularise by the last date of admission for that semester
